"First 48"
Package D - $399
This is a great option for those wanting to document those precious moments of a newborn's life without having the labor and delivery coverage. For whatever reason - modesty, finances, or medical concerns, you may decide having a photographer in the delivery room is not for you but you may still want to record this special time.
These sessions take place within 48 hours of your little one's arrival after everyone has had a chance to rest a little. They are done at the place of birth during daylight hours and are still approached with a natural and photojournalistic style. This is great for capturing siblings or grandparents meeting baby for the first time or the first bath or just the wonderful emotions following a birth.
Please be aware that while this type of session doesn't require 24/7 on call service, it does involve very short notice, so it is recommended that you book ahead.
• 1-2 hours of on-location coverage
• Digital files of birth images with printable rights
• Keepsake slideshow highlighting your birth story available for additional charge.
If purchasing Package A, B, or C and the First 48, receive 40% off of the cost of the First 48.

Why is birth photography so expensive?
I think this blog post by Nicole Noelle Photography of Woodlands, Texas says it perfectly, especially her the quote from Lexia Frank.
